Our world doesn’t incentivize businesses for saving the environment just like it doesn’t penalize them for destroying it.

Morning

  • World of Organic Agriculture 2016 report
  • organic certification is segregation from conventional coffee throughout the supply chain. Organic certification is a commitment to sustainability that deserves to be rewarded with our dollars.
  • Explored a couple of organic certifications.

Afternoon

Interview with Bryan, Gracias.coffee. He recently graduated from his college and has been working with Gracias for over 2 years. He was quite amazed to find out how detailed and complex the coffee supply chain goes. He is quite proud of being associated with something that his father and their fathers have worked in.

Evening

Explored a 4-week course on sustainable farming.

Pitch-in the concept to Alex Fiorillo, Grid Impact. They are also currently working on a project with bringing FairTrade to Coffee Farmers in Central America.

Night

Mid-week check in Manu Dixit (my advisor for thesis project), CIID. He is my advisor for the final project. I have to focus on getting more interviews as early as possible to build a comprehensive Service Blueprint so that I can focus on an area.

Learned that there are many cool templates in Miro.
